Help with Clip Art Gallery

C

Chris

Hi All-

I'm trying to import some clipart that I've downloaded from the Microsoft
clipart website. I cannot import the resulting file into my clip gallery
(I'm receiving a corrupt file error). I'm running PowerPoint 2004 on a Mac
PowerBook running OS X 10.4.5. All of the latest Office updates have been
previously installed.

Any help/advice would be appreciated!

Hi Chris,

You don't say what web browser you are using, and that could make a
difference.

Some browsers download the file without the .cil extension that it needs
for clip gallery to use it. Try appending .cil to the file name, then
double-click the file. Clip Gallery should be open and so should
PowerPoint when you double-click the .cil file.

Also, when the file is put into Clip Gallery one of the properties that
will be checked by default is "Favorites." I don't care to have all my
downloaded clips in the Favorites category, so I right-click on them and
choose properties and give them categories that I think are appropriate.

Jim-

Thanks for your reply. I currently use Firefox 1.5 as my default web
browser.

When I download the .cil file using Firefox, it is, in fact, downloaded
without the extension. Even though the file appears to be properly
associated with the Clip Gallery applet in the Finder, I discovered that the
file will not import unless the .cil extension is added. Your suggestion,
then, solved my problem!
