Help with converting Word 2003 files to word 2007

I just installed office 2007. I can not open any of my word 2003 docs. When I
open them a text encoding box appears asking: Windows default; text file; or
other encoding!

I do not have a option to convert or work in compatibility mode.

Please help!!
