Dr Q
Hi,
I have created a new post in this group because the problem that I
initially thought was only occurring with Excel is not isolated. Word
is also experiencing a problem too.
For the discussion about the Excel issue please see:
http://groups.google.com/group/micr...847beaafa9?lnk=gst&q=drmoque#c16d14847beaafa9
First my settings:
Office 2004, version 11.5.2
Mac OSX 10.4.11
The two problems are:
In Excel, when I open a new workbook and try to save it, I get the
following message: " Microsoft Excel cannot open or save any more
documents because there is not enough available memory or disk space"
In Word, I get the following error upon opening an existing file:
"Word could not create a work file. Check amount of Disk space." I
also get this message when Word tries to save the file via autobackup.
The net result of my request in the Excel newsgroup was to tell me to
move to a new user account because the problem did not appear there.
Unfortunately, my fear is that I will end up copying something to mess
up the other account if I don't know what is causing the problem.
Please note that I have verified that I have plenty of free HD and
RAM. Office only seems to think I don't have any. Also I was not
getting either of these errors prior to installing the 11.5.2 update
last Sunday.
I did attempt to delete office and reinstall it. However the error
messages did not go away. After reinstalling from the CD, I did have
an error message about not being able to open the MS Framework
library. This went away with the 11.5.0 update though.
I am hoping the fact that this seems to be a problem with both Word
and Excel may help identify what got corrupted when the 11.5.2 update
was installed.
Thank you for any assistance you can provide.
