Help with Creating Forms in Word 2002

T

Triplecee

I am desigining a form using word from Office XP and have a mixture of text
fields and checkboxes. When I protect the document the checkbox function
works just fine but the text fields do not. They work just as iff I was
trying to replace text normally.
When I unprotect the document the text fields fully select and typing
replaces them but the check boxes do not function.

I have tried putting in continuous section breaks but that causes the
section break itself to mess up the page formatting.

Any suggestions as to how to correct this problem?

Not sure I fully understand what you mean by "They work just as if I
was tring to replace text normally". However will have a stab and ask
you if you have the field shading switched on or of. On the Forms
toolbar there is an icon with a little "a" in it. Click on this and
the fields are shaded. Then check field shading in the Tools, Options,
View tab. Where it says field shading choose "Always". Protect your
document and the fields you inserted should be shaded and when you tab
to them you type your text. If I hae misunderstood your request I
apologise. You may need to be more specific.
