help with finalize event

I discovered that my old framework 1.1 forms have references to a class
library which is now causing the same 2.0 program to through an exception.
Without having to go back and modify all my old forms (reclaimation of source
will be difficult and rebuilding very painful). I am looking for someone who
knows how to implement any of the three things mentioned below:
Is there any way to capture the and control the finalize event from vb (I am
starting IP from a VB front end)?
or is there a way to just ignore the exception when IP throughs it?
or is there a way to reclaim the formcode.vb file from the .xsn comment out
the offending code and then rebuild the form?

Any suggestions would be most helpful.......
