Help with formatting problem?

In every application that I have where I can enter free
text, words pop into the document or e-mail message or
chat boxes. Sometimes, there will be a line of dots
preceeding the word or phrase that vanishes when the
word/phrase appears. It only happens where the cursor is--
-in other words, wherever the cursor is on the document si
where the words will "magically" appear---and only if I
pause typing. Has anyone had this problem and if so---how
do I fix it? Thanks!

I believe that you are probably seeing Voice Recognition in operation (if I
fully understand your very confusing message). You just need to turn off
either your microphone or Voice Recognition (or both).
