Help with formulas....

J

Joan

I'm using Excel 2002. I haven't used Excel in a few
years, but I remember that once you started to type a
formula, a prompt would appear to let you know the proper
format and what information went where. This feature is
not working on my current Excel. What do I need to do to
utilize this option? Is it still an option?

Thanks for any help offered!

Hi Joan,

I don't remember the feature you describe, although maybe a bell rings.
I always use the Insert Function dialog box.
You can open it with Insert>Function of the fx button on the Standard toolbar.

Prior to Excel 2002 there was an "=" sign on the Function Bar below the
Formula Bar.

When you clicked on that and started to type a Function, the Wizard would help
you, as you remember.

This feature is no longer supported. Click the "fx" then enter your Function
name in the search box(just start typing) and Go>OK. You now get the Wizard.

OR scroll through the available Functions in the Functions Dialog box.
