Help with headers and footers

D

Don

I'm using Word for Windows 2000 (sr-1). Here's what I'm trying to do.
I have a three page doc. and I'd like to have the same footer on the first
two pages and nothing on the third page.
I've been trying now for awhile but can't seem to figure it out. I've read
the help file that tells me to insert a "section break" where I want the
different header. Each time I've tried this and removed the footer from the
third page it also removes the footer from the first two pages.
Can you tell me what I'm missing or doing wrong?
Thanks,
Don...........

The following is how you would do it with Word 2003. Perhaps it works the
same on 2000 or you can adapt it.

Clear all headers and footers.
Put in the section break at the end of page 2.
Access the header on page 3.
Click the "Link to previous" on the Header and Footer toolbar to unlink from
the previous section.
Do the same for the page 3 footer.
Go back to the previous section--either page--and put in the desired header
and footer.
Save and you're done.

Hope this helps.
