help with inserting pictures into Word 2007 template for newslette

OK< I can get the photos and such in there - insert, picture, click on file.
But I cannot get them to drag to the place I want them, nor have I been able
to get text to wrap around. Obviously, I'm missing something.

1. Do I create a text box exclusive to the picture? Or do I insert the
picture into an existing text box which holds my verbiage? When I"ve tried
the latter, the picture ends up as large as the text box...

2. I've tried so many combinations of inline vs floating, and all manner of
text wrapping, it's just plain sad.

Can someone please help me, step by step, to sort this out? Been a word user
for so many years, nver had such troubles before. I'm feeling quite
frustrated, and rather dumb, to boot.

And lastly, I'm using a template for the MS site, and my 2007 program tells
me that not all components are enabled because I should convert the
document/template to 2007. But when I do so, I lose an entire page (page 5,
to be specific) and all the text from page 5 just floats on top of the text
on page 4. And when I try to insert a blank page, it has none of the header
and footer formatting that the template ought to have.

Thanks!

Right off the bat I'll admit that I'm biased. Any chance you have Publisher
on your system? It's the program you ought to be using.

JoAnn, you are so kind to keep helping me - I really appreciate it! Publisher
isn't part of my Office bundle - no such luck. I used to use Publisher years
ago and loved it - everything was very drag and drop. Hoping I can get this
Word business in order quickly - I've got an event on Thursday that requires
this newsletter, and I still need to have time to get it reproduced and
assembled. Grr.

Instead of posting in this newsgroup, try posting over in one of the Word
newsgroups. I am not the best one to help with positioning graphics in Word.
There are some really great folks over there who can help you.
