Help with local site

Where to start, I have had my site up for 2 years now, when I started is was
located in my web/ my site/ and when I would post to it when I was done I
would hit publish and everything was fine. Now it resides in My network
places. Somehow I did something to where it is live. When I post the changes
are done to the site right away. I would like to change it back to the old
way. Please forgive my terminology in explaining the problem. The site works
fine I just like the contol of updating now and posting later. As always

To open the local (hard disc) site use:

File->Open Web and browse to the site on your hard disc. You should
publish the live site to the local to get them both into synch again.
