Help with MS Office 98

I just switched from my iMac Blueberry in OS 9.2.2 to an eMac running Mac
10.3.5

I have been using with OS 9 Microsoft Office applications. I had few file in
Word and when I was in X I opened them going into Classic and there were no
problems. Suddenly I open one day the same files in Word as they were and I
was not able to do it anymore. Word quits immediately. I have important
files and now I don-t know how to solve this problem. I would like to
continue to use Office 98 for a while still in Classic till I get a version
for X.

Can you help _

The 98 version cannot work with X, correct _ Any way to upgrade or find
Office for Mac at cheap price or free _

Office 98 should work fine in Classic under OS X.

Work through the troubleshooting tips here, they fix 90% of what commonly
goes wrong:
