Help with Office Mac X insert clip art & photos

P

Peter Foss

Suddenly any clip art or photo I try to insert into a document comes
over only with a black border and no visable content. The border
contains the image which can only be seen when clicking on Preview.

But in the regular view, the image(s) is invisable and cannot be
dragged, modified, etc.

Any suggestions?

Take a look at WordMenu>Preferences>View & remove the check on Picture
Placeholders. That is the most likely culprit.

Hi CyberTaz:
I am not following this. If I open WORD, Preferences is grayed-out
unless I initiate a new project. But then Preferences does not give me
any option for View or Picture Placeholders.

"Help" is, as always, no help.

I am no dummy on computers, but this one is baffling me.

Thank you!

In order for Preferences to be active a doc must be open... Preferably the
one into which you have inserted the 'invisible' clip art. It has nothing to
do with the Project Gallery or any given project.

To add to what Bob said:

It would be so nice if that little gem made it into the help...

Word needs to know "which" preferences you want to alter. To do that, you
have to have the template containing them open. So Preferences will always
be greyed out if no document is open.

Either open the Normal template or open a document (which will open the
template it is attached to).

When you change the settings in Preferences, Word then has a place to save
them.

Cheers
