Help with Office - not functioning correctly

I've recently had problems with Office 2000 Professional.
None of the included programs will open - when I try, it
opens the Windows installer window. When I tried to
reinstall it just now, it said the patch package could not
be opened. I can't get rid of Office, because I tried
uninstalling it all ready, and it just took it off the
Add/Remove programs menu without really removing it. Does
anybody know a way to fix this?

look for "eraser2k.exe" on MS's website

its supposed to fully remove O2k after add/remove
