Help with Publisher and IE8 problem

I have read and attempted the fix for the IE8 problem on ungrouping, etc.,
but without any luck. I think the fix is probably fine, and instead it's me
that needs to understand it a bit better. I actually inherited a website
that was created with Publisher 2003, and it has 26 pages. I was told to
open the index.html file with Publisher, and to always save changes as the
same name, and only upload the index.html file and index_files folder to post
any changes. I've succesfully done that many times since inheriting the
website design.

However, I guess I don't understand the fix for grouped items since I don't
have the .pub file to begin with. When I've attemped the fix, the only page
that I have is the 1st page, and the others are missing.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Publisher is not a code editor...you should not be editing your code and
republishing. You need to rebuild your Publisher file and then apply the
ungrouping fix. Then from that point on make changes in the Publisher file
and produce new web files to upload.

As to how, read the last part of this article:
Common Sense Computing 101 aka "Why in the world would you lose your
publisher file?":

OK - I'm attempting to create the pub file as mentioned in the article, since
I never had one to begin with. However, after I open the 2nd page with a 2nd
instance of Publisher and choose select all and copy, then I go to the blank
2nd page of the 1st instance of publisher and choose paste, nothing appears
to be pasted. Do you have any clue as to what I'm doing wrong?

OK. I will assume then that you are making progress in rebuilding your
Publisher file. If you had another question, please post again.
