Well I wish I had stayed with my FP2002.
I have now upgraded to FP2003.

My Goal....
To refurbish my whole website..eg www.amadeus.net.nz
I would like to save it all to my new computer....which I dont have a copy
of the original website.

What I would like to achieve....save all amadeus.net.nz onto my computer.

I am presently having problems trying to get on to my FTP ...I seem to get
access but I cannot see any files to download from my website !

I am presently in touch with my webhost provider. To see if there is
something wrong at their end or mine.

Can someone run me through the procedure for the above.

1 File - import
2 From site
3 FTP www.amadeus.net.nz
4 Name ..... Password......
5 Opens....chooseyour destination or location to save local copy...eg
C:documentsandsetting\mywebs
6 Congratulations...Press finish to start adding the files to your
website.
adding files to website ? I want to save them to my computer.
7 FINISH
8 Listing subsites in Ftp amadeus.net.nz

Publish all changed pages.... local to remote Remote to local X
synchronised

At this stage I would expect to be able to see all my files in my website
listed....nothing !

Any suggestions to as what I may be doing wrong or what I should be doing ?

Looking forward to your replies.

Thanks

This link opens a page that tells me you have FrontPage extensions on the server.
http://www.amadeus.net.nz/_vti_inf.html

So, open FrontPage, click File > Open Site.., enter: http://www.amadeus.net.nz/ as the address.
Then enter your user name and password when prompted, and then click File > Publish Site and
publish it to a location on your hard drive.
( you can publish both directions with FrontPage )

Thanks for the reply Steve.
I have done this and follwed instructions.
Got to
publishing the website part ie entered the ftp details
shows the page with the two windows ...one side my computer and the host in
the other.
A message below shows "listing subsites ftp://amadeus.net.nz"
It has three radio buttons to the right
local to remote X
remote to local synchronize

The publish website button is greyed out ...but I can press the stop button

Nothing is showing in the windows...ie the computer contents or the host
contents.

When I press the STOP button it shows the contents on my computer..ie the
other website files I have stored...
But still blank on the host server.

Is it something I have done or not done ?

Or could it be my webhost is not set up correctly ?

Thanks....looking forward to your reply

David

If your Web host is running the FP Server Extensions, you should forget that
FTP exists. Just do File, Open Site, http://amadeus.net.nz, Open.
