help with reinstalling word 2000

My hard drive was fried and had to be replaced on my Sony
Vaio. When I went to re-install the Word 2000 program, it
prompted me for a serial number that was only on my old
hard drive. Is there any way for me to get the serial
number for the Word program or do I just have another
expensive beer coaster?.

The number you want should be on a sticker on the CD jewel case (retail
version) or printed on the Certificate of Authenticity (OEM version).
