Help with resources

using 2003. I have tasks that use different recources at different
rates.
example
Task A - dur = 3 wks
Resource 1 - 1st wk is 10%, 2d wk is 10%, 3d wk is 0%
Resource 2 - 1st wk is 20%, 2d wk is 30%, 3d wk is 50%
Resource 3 - 1st wk is 20%, 2d wk is 30%, 3d wk is 30%

how do I allocate that?

meg99,

I did it by creating the task and adding the resources, and then manually
adjusting the work, start and finish dates for each individual resource in
the Task Usage view. 10% = .8 hrs, 20% = 1.6hrs, 30% = 2.4hrs… etc.

Darrell,
I have started down that road, but that is very labor intensive and
tedious. I was hoping there was a better way - maybe a VBA way to do
this?

Hi

You could also look into the existing resource curves, if these fit into
your requirements.

In the Task Usage view, right click at the assignment and in Assignment
information box select the appropriate resource curve.

I hope it helps

Thanks guys for the help,
Vanita gave me an idea with his reference to the Task Usage chart. As
a result, I have created an Excel spreadsheet that calculates the
hours for each day in the respective week for each of the resources.
I then did a copy and paste into the Task Usage chart.
