help with service pack 2 needed

After I installed SP2, I can't print. I get an error message that says
unable to communicate with the device. Please start "MPService" from the
Services applet in the Control Panel. Then please right-click on the
StatusMonitor to Reconnect and try again.
There is no Service applet in the Control Panel. Please help.
