I have an HP m385 (2.8 GHz, 7200 RPM disk, 512 of 2700 Memory) and if I
click on a 30K doc file in explorer it takes 18 - 25 seconds to load word
2003 and the file.
My ibm 600X laptop (500MHz, 5400PM drive, and 192 memory) loads word 2002
and the same file in 4 seconds.
Duh.
If there's a MS Word guru here, please reply, as I am on the point of
returning the system even though I know it's software problem of some kind.
I just can't find the answer.
BTW, all other programs load and operate normally. A 200 page PDF file loads
into Adobe Acrobat in 5 seconds or so.
