Help with Task Pane

Good Afternoon,

I turn to you in desperation. I have a problem with my Excel Document
Recovery / Task Pane.

For Starters, I am using the 2007 Office Excel, on a Lenovo Tablet PC
x61 running Vista.

Whenever Excel crashes or closes, it saves the open document to
document recovery. Here is the weird part. When I restart Excel, I
cannot click anywhere in the document recovery pane area, and there is
no information in that zone. I cannot right click there, it is dead
space.
