Help with "Who does What and When" REPORT

Hi Everyone,

I need some help please.

I have created a Master Project, where 30 projects and their tasks are
included. I am trying to create a report each week that shows what tasks my
resources do each day of that particular week and how long they spend on it.
Basically, I would like a print out that shows the following:The resource
name, the project name, what task they are on, which day of the week and how
long that task will take the asssigned resource (person). I need to know this
in order to see in advance when they have free time when I can assign them to
another task. (As you can imagine it is hard to see each project individually
in the master project, therefore the report each week).

I hope it make sence. ;-)

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

You also need a resource pool to consolidate your resource information, then
in the Resource Usage View you can insert the Project column and see what
you need.

WARNING: consolidated projects and resource pools use old DDE technology for
the links. DO NOT rename, over-write or move any file at all otherwise it is
when not if one or more files will corrupt.

Hi Rod,

Thanks very much for the tip. Each of my projects have the same 5 people as
resources, so when i put them into the master project they still have the
same resources. How do I create a resource pool? Would there be only one
group with that five people? Sorry I am a bit confused. Hope you can explain
;-)

Thanks again,

Hi Rod,

I have tried in Gantt chart View to do the resource sharing and when I went
to view the Resource Usage my master project still showed all my resources as
many times as the number of projects (30times) one under the other. Nothing
changed. Any idea?

Many thanks,

Dear Mike,

Thanks very much for the links.
I have tried what you have suggested,I have shared all my projects with my
resource pool. Which was fine. But my problem is that when i create a master
projects and insert all the indiviual projects into a new master project then
all the resources are shown as many times as the number of projects (and not
only once) i have insterted. What I need is to have all my projects in one
master project showing the resources i have shared with them(once only),not
30 times (i have 30 projects in my master project). Any ideas? Sorry to be a
pain!

Thanks very much again.

In #18, towards the end, I explain how this duplication occurs. You must
create a resource pool first, then share each project with the pool before
you insert the projects.
