Help with window location in Word

S

scott.siegler

Hello,

I recently downloaded an update to office when I got an automatic
update notification. Since then, whenever I open a document, the new
window starts way too high on the screen. The top of the document, is
at the top, so the ruler is covered by the toolbars. How do I set the
default location and size of thew new window. I would like the window
to be smaller and set lower on the screen so the top of the ruler is
flush with the bottom of the toolbars

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Scott -

This is one of those transient anomalies that affects *some* users
*sometimes*, so the actual cause & cure seems to vary.

First course of treatment - While Word is running, go into System
Preferences & set your screen resolution lower by several notches. If that
makes the title bar accessible drag the window into the middle of the
screen, make it somewhat smaller than you actually want it, then take the
res back up to normal.

If that doesn't resolve it, come back for more :)
