help with word templates

Hi
I need to create a few templates in word, and was wondering if anyone can
point me towards a website or similar which has guides or examples?
Specifically, I need to create templates which when they are opened create
unique reference numbers, insert them into the document, rename the file to
this reference, and set a save location.
There are probably some other things the customer will want, but that seems
to be the main thrust so far.
Can anyone help?

Thanks for that.
I have looked there, and i cannot find anything relating to the problems i
am having.
Basically i need to create a template which will autogenerate a referance
number , possibly based on the users name or the date etc, rename the
documant to that referance number, and set a specific save location, ie
\\share\letters.

doesn't sound as though it should be too complex, but i can't find anything
to cover this.
hope someone can help....
