I am using Word 2001 on an ibook running OS 1.5/OS 9.22. Yesterday I had
problems with Entourage and had to rebuild. As I was doing that Word somehow
hit a glitch, and now it works but it won't save new documents (although it
does seemt o save existing docs okay). But it simply won't acknowledge the
save command.
I have tried trashing the Normal Template and the Word Settings(9), i just
dumped them in the garbage and restarted Word (don't know if that's the
correct way), but it didn't help, other than to lose all of my custom
settings...
Any tips? On possible ray of light, but I'm not sure: when I installed
Office I did a drag and drop of the entire disk onto my HD. Didn't do it
properly with Toast, so it's not a bootable CD. But can I swap in Word from
that? I tried just swapping the templates folder, but that didn't help.
Don't know how to place all fthe extensions etc. by hand.
Any help is appreciated.
I'm thinking of buying Word X - will that work with OS 1.5? How much space
will it take (I've got 4 gigs free on a 20 gig HD).
Thanks,
Max
