Help: Word Corrupted All My Field Codes?

P

Pete

Hi All:

I have a long document with embedded equations, figures, and text. I
noticed something really bizarre. My field codes will still turn gray when
I click on them but they will not update with the F9 key. They will toggle.
Here is the strange part in my table of figures, the codes look like this
TUFigure1. This figure is interesting.UT. For cross-references they have
become XFigure 1X Subscripts appear as HB2BO.

Where did these extra symbols come from and how can I get rid of them. How
can I keep them from coming back.
The update field is now grayed out and not selectable.

I am using Word 2003 SP2 and Windows XP Pro SP2. I also am using Endnote 9
(those links seem to be unaffected) and MathType 5.2.

I have all the available updates installed. Maybe that is my problem.
It will be a lot of work if I have to manually replace all the links and
cross-references.

TIA,

Pete

I noticed something else. The document was shared with a Mac user and these
strange symbols are in a ZWAdobe font with a point size of 1. Converting
everything to Verdana point size of 11 just made them visible.

Thanks,

Pete

So, are you all set, now? Or are you still stuck?
