Hi all,

I downloaded the STudent and Teacher Ed. for MAc today, but something seems to be totally wrong (some technical issues or something) with the whole installation and use of the program. I know I installed it perfectly, but I get error-messages and the system shuts down every time I try to use it. the most common error-message sound like this;
"you are working without a word workfile and memory is nearly full. save your work". this is just wrong, because there's plenty of space left at the HD.

Thanks:)

Hello Janne -

Before anything else please clarify what you mean by "downloaded the STudent
and Teacher Ed." No version of Mac Office is legitimately available for
download from any web site. Was this through your school? Or by "downloaded"
do you actually mean *installed*?

Hi James,

It sounds like a permissions problem. Use Apple's Disk Utility (in
Applications > Utilities folder) to repair permissions. That fix it.

yes, sure..sorry. I was a bit quick i guess. I used the install disc and one of the three produsct keys (I have 1 left now after various troubleshooting).
the main problem ocurs when I try to open the word program, then the error-messages appears, and the program shuts down.

thank you:)

As Jim said, repair disk permissions & you should be OK - post back with
specific details if not.

Also, you can't "use up" your Product Keys. You can reinstall using the same
key as many times as you wish. It's just that you can't get away with using
the *same* key multiple times on the same computer or multiple systems on
the same network... Only one installation based on the same key will run at
a time.
