help, wrong computer!

A student's parent and I recently went in together on the
purchase of an office software product. Well over the
summer (before I had my computer) we worked together on a
computer at her mother's home office. Now that I have
tried to set office up on my new computer, it says it has
already been activated on another computer. It has, of
course, but I need it on mine! I can't even get into a
microsoft assisted area without paying for help that the
program says I get for free. Any ideas on how to fix this
problem?
