Help!
I have XP/ Word 2000, using a (new) HDD only, 70% free, with no network drive. I get 5 error messages in series then word closes and the saved file as well as work in progress are corrupted/ lost:
1 Unrecoverable disc error on file (~wrlnnn.tmp) The disc you are working on has a media problem that prevents word from using it. Try and reformat or save to another disc.
2 word failed reading from this file (wrlnnn.tmp) please restore the network connection or replace teh FDD
3 A table in this doc has become corrupted. To recover convert table to text table
4 word cannot complete the save due to file permission error
5 word has lost data due to bad network connection or missing FDD
Reg Mechanic, Chkdsk and Virus checkers (all suggested on other threads) come up with a few usual suspects, correct them but teh problem endures. Other applications save OK. As does word sometimes still. Using latest Kaspersky Firewall and Virus scan, latest Reg Mechanic too.
FWIW Feels weird and complex to me, but I'm no expert.
