Hiya,
further to what CyberTaz has said,
Doc extension indicates it is not the new office 2007 format, so you
should be able to open it. The problem could be either if there is some
VBA (macro) codes stored in that file you have received or some feature
which Mac Office in comparison with PC does not support-BUT even in that
case you should be able to open such file - the align and font would/may
differ (it would look messy) but still you should be able to open it .
My guess is whether you do not have IMAP mail account and the message
was just partly downloaded - when you see that message in Entourage can
you see a whole small envelope on the left hand side of the message or
broken small envelope?
Can you send me that file? litttle.creature.incATgmail.com just replace
the AT by @ so I can have a look?
If the file has a .doc extension any version of Mac Word back to Office 98
should be able to open it. Are you sure it's not a .docx?
How are you attempting to open the file & what *does* happen when you try?
"no luck" doesn't tell very much. How is it being sent to you?
If it's as an email attachment the problem could be originating on the
sender's end. Have them zip the file first.
