Hello, I am a Novice user of access. I took a ms suite class last semester
and learned some of the exciting things you can do in access. To help me
learn I have created a project. I am going to use my church. Currently the
church does everything on paper. I would like to know how to start on
building a database to house information about members. I need help on
everything from setting up the tables, relationships and writing code. I have
several books on access and VBA and SQL. If anyone could help me get started
it would be great.

first off, forget SQL and VBA, those are not for "novice" users. Starting
with simple demographic info- name, address, phone #, etc, for mailing lists,
etc, any basic Access book should get you started. What else would you want
the database to do?

I would like the databse to create reports on tithes from each member
weekly, monthly and yearly etc. It would also have to track their status and
committes involved in at the church. I would like to be able to send out
notifictions to members as well. The databse would also have to store
birth, death, marrige, education information as well. im not all to sure of
what other cool things I can make it do.
