I am attempting to place a half hour of dollar sales into cell e9
through e25 and need the cell directly under it f9 thorough f25 to let
me know how many employees i need for that half hour. 0 to 55 = 3, 56
to 147 = 4, 148 to 165 = 5. Any help would be appreciated.

One way:

In another location (perhaps a second sheet, which could be hidden),
enter your table of help needed:

A B
1 0 3
2 148 4
3 165 5
....

Then in your original sheet, enter

F9: =VLOOKUP(E9,Sheet2!$A:$B,2,TRUE)

and copy it down to F25

F9:F25 is not directly under E9:E25.

Nonetheless, is this what you want?

In cell F9:
=IF(E9<56,3,IF(E9>147,5,4))

WELL THAT IS A START, I GOT A CIRCULAR REFERENCE AND THEN I GOT A 0
WITH A BLUE SQUARE NEXT TO IT. BUT AT LEAST I GOT MORE THAN I'VE

YES I PUT IT ON A DIFFERENT SHEET (SHEET #2).

LILLIABETH, THAT WORKED ALSO BUT WOULD NOT WORK PAST 5 FROM 166 TO 209
SALES PER HALF HOUR IT STAYED AT 5 AND SHOULD HAVE WENT TO 6

ARGUMENTS TO WORK ON FOR 7 THROUGH 14
