I am using Access 2003.

In an application that I have created, it appears that I have deleted a form
(without knowing it) and now get the message "The form name '~TMPCLP215751'
is misspelled or does not exist".

How do I rectify this and stop this message popping up? Also it appears in
the particualr application that I am creating, I can no longer use the
Switchboard Manager, as it keeps coming up with this message.

HELP!!!!!!

First off... make a backup of your database if you don't already have one.

Then use Tools... Options... General; UNCHECK the "Track Name Autocorrect"
checkbox - this feature has richly earned the nickname "Name Autocorrupt".

Then use Tools... Database Utilities... Compact and Repair Database to clean
out the file. Access leaves junk around when you change and delete things,
this may be one.

If this doesn't help post back, there are more drastic solutions.

John,

Many Thanks - I tried the methodology but it did not work for me.

Fortunately I was able to restore an earlier version, that was fairly up to
date.

This message now seems to bug me when I run macro (from time to time) and
when it hits me, as long as I repair & compress it goes away until the next
time.

How can I make it go away, permanently.
