Here's the solution to your Office 2003 update problems !!

After weeks of wrestling with the following error message :

"The Office Update site is currently experiencing some technical
difficulties and is unable to check for updates."

and after trying all the possible suggestions in this newsgroup with little
success, I finally stumbled onto the following solution. It appears that the
office update site requires the latest version of the Microsoft Windows
Script 5.6 ( version 5.6.0.8825 ) while the one currently on my system was
5.6.0.8820 ( or maybe it was corrupted ).

I downloaded this from:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/2/8/a/28a5a346-1be1-4049-b554-3bc5f3174353/scripten.exeAfter installing the above, I am now able to access the office update sitewithout any problems.

I also thank you. For the past three months have I have tried every
possible "fix" suggested in all the Microsoft KB articles related to this
issue. None worked until yours.
