hh:mm not adding

I have a column of hours and minutes that I want to sum
but instead of showing me the result it shows the
formula. None of my other formulas are doing that on the
spreadsheet.

This is usually indicative that the cell displaying the formula is formatted
as Text. With the cell selected, go to Format=>Cells, number tab and format
as a time showing more than 24 hours. Click in the cell to edit and hit
enter.
