Hi-resolution cartoons, clip art...any suggestions?

I'm looking for sources for hi res cartoons for a small marketing newsletter,
of only about 2500 - 3000. In looking online I see prices of $95 - $195 for
one cartoon with the proper license... Ouch!

Does anyone have any suggestions for some more reasonably priced images? I'm
planning on taking my newsletter to an online full color process printer and
can't expect much help from them...(yes, that's why it's a discount printer!)
