Not feeling the Groove? Problems with your laptop? Maybe it's Microsoft
Office Groove 2007.

Today in class I overheard someone behind me about his laptop not going into
hibernation or stand by. He said that he would close the lid (or choose
sleep) and the screen would go blank but the computer would never power down.
My ears perked up. I got all interested because I have had the same problem
with my Dell Laptop (Inspiron 6000, running XP Pro). This has been
frustrating since I reinstalled Windows just 2 months ago. This passed week I
have tried everything that I could think of (dell driver updates, video card
updates, system restore, etc). I've become so frustrated that I was planning
on reinstalling Windows AGAIN. I just backed up my stuff on Monday and was
getting ready for a sleepless night filled with re-installations ALL my
programs.

He continued on to say that only thing he remembered installing since his
problem began was Microsoft Office Groove 2007. Then it finally struck me!
That was about the same time that my problem began! So instead of
reinstalling my OS today like I was planning, I ended up going home and
removing Microsoft Office Groove 2007 and what do you know, PROBLEM SOLVED!!!
I still would like to be able to use Groove, but the fact that I don't have
to restart my computer every time I close my lid is worth it too me. Standby
and Hibernate both work like magic (or at least the way they are supposed to).

Thanks for bring this to our attention. I've been using Groove 2007 since
September and have had no problems using Hibernation mode on my Gateway
Notebook but will keep this in mind if I suddenly start have some issues.
