hidable text?

Maybe it is a good idea that ON would allow to "hide text",
like one can do in acrobat professional.
In Acrobat, you can attach a "note" in which you can write a text.
This is one of the items in my wish list.

Most common app I have seen is to redact for legal reasons.

Redaction in Acrobat I can understand.

I cannot see the need for it in OneNote.

This is supported. If you have a paragraph that has an indented
paragraph immediately below it, you can doubleclick the move widget to
the left of the parent paragraph to hide all the paragraphs (notes)
below it. You can then doubleclick the widget again to show the hidden
text again.

Last count I had 58 logins and passwords. It would be nice to have the list
in OneNote, but not displayed.

Maybe a college student would like to shield pic of FWB from professor.

For the list of passwords, I leave the location text in black, but set the
color of the password text to white. (I have even thought about setting up a
tag that is white text with no icon and a name of "Don't Touch" so I can do
it in just a couple of clicks.)

Help me understand:
1- "Location" to be effectively 'login' or URL?
2- Passwords are set to white to match a white background?
3- Did you do this in a table (which I have never used)?
4- How do you temporarily display the password, i.e., change background or
text color?

1) I only put in the userID, not the path. But I do put in an indication of
which machine/application/site the password goes with. I put each on its own
line and indent the id and password.
2) Yes... The passwords are set to white because my password page is a white
page. If you are using a colored background for this page, you will need to
match the ink to the page color. (This is much harder.... so I don't
bother).
3) I don't do this in a table, but you easily could. Creating a table for
this is trivial in 2007, you use the Table menu to add a three column table
to the page. Put the indication information in one column, the userID in the
second, and the password in the third. This has the advantage of being able
to use the tags, since you can quickly apply a tag to a single cell in a
table. If you are using 2003, tables aren't nearly as nice... Let me know if
you need detailed directions for that and I will dig them out.
4) You got this one in one. I change the color of the text (or unapply the
tag). But as I typed this, I realized that I don't even need to do this. If
you copy the text and paste it in most password spots, the color won't
matter. :)

Hope this helps...

Because Acrobat allows it and there is a reason why it is there in Acrobat.
So why not?

Actually, a better application for keeping track of logins and
passwords is eWallet from Ilium Software (www.iliumsoft.com). There's
a component for the PC and one for the PocketPC. It also keeps the
two in sync. That and ListPro (same company) are the two best
purchases I've made for my palmtop.
