hidden column doesn't come back??

I hid a column in project and I'm unable to unhide it. According to
Project Help you have to re-create it as if it were a new column that
you were creating. This is throwing off my dates. The information I
hid didn't come back!

Is this correct? Am I missing something?? Seems unreal.

It doesn't make sense. It isn't like Excel?

Naomi --

To unhide a column, right-click on the column header where you want to
insert it, and then click Insert Column on the shortcut menu. Hiding and
inserting a column will not affect your project schedule in any way,
however, so I'm not sure what you mean by "this is throwing off my dates."

Okay Dale, I have a clearer understanding of the user's problem.

Unhide does work, IF you can remember the exact name of the column
you've hidden. Otherwise you're pecking around. Excel is more
evident.
