hidden date navigator on start-up

When one of my clients starts up Outlook in opens her calendar. That's what
she wants. The problem she is having is that it shows the 1 day view with
the Date Navigator not showing. She has to drag it on screen each morning -
it's squashed off the right hand side of the page.

She closes Outlook with the Date Navigator showing and is set to start up in
the Calendar folder. I have seen this setting on hundreds of other systems
and it usually shows the Calendar exactly as they left it which in her case
should have the date navigator there.

What's wrong??

Thanks for any help you can give me.
