Hidden error box

When I open a word document without word running, there is a error sound as
if there is an error box popping up that the user can't see. The document
takes a really long time to load. When I close any document, I am prompted
to save changes, even when no changes were made.

When Word is running and subsequent documents are opened, they open without
the error sound but have the same issue when closing.

This began happening following installation of an HP 2430 printer however I
doubt this is related as I have a number of those printers running on
similar configurations wtih no issues.

Any help appreciated.

Are you using Norton Anti Virus? If so, open NAV and disable the Office
Plugin option under Preferences.
