When I try to open a macro with Word 7.0 the Edit button is not active.
Tools - Macro - Select the macro - Edit. The button shows Create, not Edit.

Most of the macros in the list have the Edit button active but a couple do
not.
All the macros that I cannot edit are in the same Template.

How can I open these macros for editing ?

Thanks

The macro's wouldn't happen to have been in the "Normal" template, would
they?
If so, and Word has had problems with the template it would have created
a new one without your macro's, which no longer exist.
Hope this isn't the case, but thought it worth mentioning.

No, the macros are in another template. All the macros in the Normal
template are editable. All the mcaros in the other template are not editable

It looks like the whole template is locked or read only or some such thing.

Thanks

OK, where is the template located, i.e. is it your Startup folder?
It sound like it isn't being loaded.

Daryl;
I think I'm getting too old.

Ignore my prior post.
You have to open the document/template where the Macro's are stored
before you can edit them.

It sounds like you have the template in your startup folder and they are
loaded (Template selected on the Tools & Addins ). Word doesn't appear
to like the idea of you editing them from the Macro's box (nor, directly
from the VBA Editor.

I (obviously) am no expert but the foregoing is what I found by "playing
around" .
