I have recently (accidentally) blocked outbound SMTP from my system with a
firewall. The obvious result is that the Outlook send function fails. The
issue is the count of messages it tries to send. I can demonstrate that there
are (currently 5) extra messages that the computer is failing to send. They
do not appear in the outbox. I can increase and decrease the count of
outbound messages by adding or removing messages from the outbox. I can flush
them out by fixing the firewall. But eventually there will be these
“invisible†messages. I do not have auto reply enabled and I do not allow
read receipts. Is there some queue I can use to see what these are without
setting up a network protocol analyzer to watch them go out?
