Hide fields based on User Id

Is is possible in InfoPath to hide fields programmatically based on the
person's id that is completing the form? For example, I only want the
"Approve" checkbox to show up if the person is a manager.

Look at "User Roles" in InfoPath (must have SP1). Combine them with
Conditional Formatting to hide controls. That's what they're all about. If
you don't want to use their roles, you have to do this yourself.

Is the personID value is in the XML ?

if its yes then you can use conditional formatting
