Hide Messages Marked for Deletion does not work

I have 2 IMAP accounts in Outlook 2007 with several subfolders in each. They
were working fine until just a while ago when suddenly a few of the folders
will not Hide Messages Marked for Deletion, even though that is what they are
set for. I have tried setting them to view IMAP Messages, then setting it
back (which did not work) and I have used SCANPST.exe to fix my Outlook files
(which also did not help). It seems like my Inbox folder is OK, but my
subfolders do not behave any more.
Any ideas?

Try resetting the Hide Messages view to its default.

Can you tell me specifically how to do that? I thought that's what I did
when I set it back to IMAP Messages under View.

View>Current View>Customize Current View>Reset Current View, I believe.
