Hide wavy underlines

Mr Warwick

I use Word 97. When I start a Word document, I get certain words underlined
incolour, I think it is red. I know what these are, they are alleged
misspellings and I can get rid of them by going (I think)
Tools\Spelling\Options and clicking "Hide spelling errors in this
document."But I have to do this *every time* I open a Word document. How do
I fix it so that I *always* hide spelling errors, without having to go
through all the rigmarole each time?

TIA

Hi Mr. W.

I use Word 2003, but I imagine this would apply to Word 97 as well.

When you go to Tools, Options, Spelling - and if you see a box that
says "Check Spelling Errors as You Type", you'll need to uncheck it as
well so that it will apply to all documents going forward, and not just
the one you're currently working on.

I hope this works in your version of Word!
