Hiding a Task Assignment in Resource Timesheet View

Hi,

I have a group of resources categorized in the "Team Members" group of
Project Web Access 2003. The ability to hide tasks in the Resource Timesheet
view is an enabled permission for the Team Members group.

However, when resources that are part of the Team Members group view their
tasks in the timesheet view, "Hide" is not option to select. They can
Reject, Insert a Note, and Link Risks, Issues and Documents. They cannot
Hide.

Any suggestions as to what I can do to re-enable this permission so that
resources may hide deleted or completed tasks?

Are the users in the Team Members group members of any other Group in PWA?
If so, remove them from the other Groups. The behavior you describe usually
results from users being members of multiple Groups, and in at least one of
those Groups a permission has been set to Deny. In fact, I would encourage
you to determine if you have set ANY permissions to Deny anwhere in Groups
and/or Categories, and if so, set the permission to Not Allowed instead.
Not Allowed means that neither Allow or Deny is selected. Hope this helps.

Hi Dale,

Thanks so much for the quick response. I have verified that the members of
the "Team Members" group belong only to that group in PWA and no other.
Actually, no user in our PWA is a member of multiple groups. As well, there
are no denied permissions for either the Team Members group or the category
it belongs to, Read Everything. So I am a bit perplexed. Any more
suggestions are more than welcome!

Please do the following for me and report the results:

1. Log into PWA with administrator permissions
2. Click Admin - Manage Users and Groups
3. Click the Groups link in the sidepane
4. Select the Team Members group and click the Modify Group button
5. In the Global Permissions grid at the bottom of the page, locate the
"Hide task from timesheet" permission
6. Is that permission set to Allow? If not, set it.

Also, when your team members navigate to the View My Tasks page, do they
actually see the "Hide" button at the left end of the toolbar immediately
above the data grid? Let us know the answers to both questions.
