hiding availability

Evan

hi there:

we're all on outlook 2k2 and exchange server 2k (i believe. it could be 2k3,
but i doubt it). from outlook calendar, if you go actions|plan a meeting and
add some users, you can see their availability. is there any way for
individual users to turn this off? or is this a server-side setting?

thx!

Each user can control the number of months of free/busy time published and set it to 0 -- unless the administrator has mandated another interval with a Group Policy Object. If no free/busy time is published, no availability will be visible, but that will make it a little hard to coordinate meeting times, don't you think?

it's official: i'm an idiot! i even looked at the free/busy options and
glanced right over it. i see it now, though, sue.

TYVM

and yes, i agree: it defeats the purpose. but, i'm just a lowly support guy.
if the mucky-mucks wanna hide, far be it from me...

Each user has the choice of whether or not to publish his or her
availablility. See Tools>Options>Calendar Options>Free/Busy Options.
