Hiding certain characters in a text box (similar to password)

Is there a way to hide certain characters in a text box similar to
password?

For instance, I have a field with the social security number, but I
don't want the whole number visible. Is there a way to hide all but
the last four digits?

Using an unbound copntrol,
=Right([SSN],4)
will show just the last 4 digits.

To display the SSN as XXX-XX-1234, with just the last 4 characters
readable, set the control source of an unbound text control to:
="XXX-XX-" & Right([SSN],4)

Use something like MYTEXTBOX = "***-**-" & right([SSAN],4) instead of using
the field name alone.
