Hiding Columns in Worksheets saved in CSV Format

One of our users is trying to hide columns in an Excel file in CSV format. I
told her I didn't think this would work because CSV format is text only with
no formatting. Is this correct, or is there some way to hide the columns and
have them stay hidden in CSV format?
