hiding gridline

I am using word 2003 (just updeated to latest version) to create table. The
gridlines are displayed even though the hide girdlines option is selected.
However, after print preview the gridlines disappear.

Let's be perfectly clear about this: Does the Table menu display "Show
Gridlines" or "Hide Gridlines"? If it is the latter, then that is the
command that is currently available, and you need to click on it. If the
former, then the gridlines are in fact hidden. If you are in Print Layout
view and have text boundaries displayed (Tools | Options | View) then you
will see table cell boundaries even if the gridlines are hidden.

The Table menu displays "show gridlines" and text boundaries is unchecked.
The table is an autotext inserted into the document by VB codes.

In that case I'd say it is likely that the inserted table has a border (it
may be light gray or dotted).
